Sociology
Sociology
Department website:
This is a short course that usually takes place during semester two of first year. It consists of five in-person lectures and five in-person classes. You will learn about the cultural foundations of social life and the development of medical sociology in Poland and around the world among many other things.
Try your best to concentrate and engage in classes because they are interactive and you will need to know the material for the final exam.
Students have one credit based on the lectures. The credit takes place in person during the lecture time and is in the form of multiple choice questions.
This credit is timed and students are required to score 24/40 (60%) in order to pass and sit the final exam. There is at least 1 retake possible.
Format: The final exam takes place in May or June at the end of second semester. The exam is usually short and consists of 5 open questions, each question is based on a specific topic taught during individual in-person classes.
Don't underestimate the final exam, since retakes often overlap with finals in larger subjects such as Anatomy and Histology. Managing them all at once can be quite challenging, and because some students do fail the first attempt, it's best to stay proactive in class so there's less to catch up on at home.
Passing grade: Students must score 6/10 (60%)
Timing: 30 mins
Retakes: There are two possible retakes which both occur in June
Credit received after passing the final exam.
No grade will enter the transcript, just pass.
