Create a group on WhatsApp.
Open the Group Info.
Where it says "Add Participants" it also says "Invite to Group via Link".
Share this link and ask people to join. You can also use QR codes.
KEY POINT
Members can join and leave their relevant groups via link - without needing to be managed by Admins.
How to broadcast.
Create a separate group, and let members join (as shown above).
Open the Group Info and go to "Group Settings"
Under "Send Messages", change permissions from "All participants" to "Only Admins".
KEY POINT
Only Admins can send messages in this group. By dealing with updates separately, they are easier to find and access on WhatsApp. Otherwise, important updates get easily buried in responses and other text messages, and not everyone will read them.
