This course was surprisingly demanding, as our assistants expected active participation and a broad range of knowledge. However, don't worry, it is nothing to be afraid of. The course included lectures and five days of classes at a healthcare center near the Jurowiecka mall (ul. Fabryczna 27, Building A).
Classes began at 8 am with students attending the doctors' meeting in the seminar room. After their meeting, there was a seminar, followed by the assistants picking up their groups for classes in the hospital - often visiting the patients they discussed during the meeting. Once done, there was a short break (until around 11 am) before gathering again in the seminar room to discuss another topic (on their website).
The course concluded with a different test for each group. Our case, we had an 18-question test. All questions were open-ended and required us to recall lists from the lectures and seminars. Other groups had multiple choice questions and cases, others had a mix. Ultimately, we have to say that this course was surprisingly thorough for its short duration.
The credit test consisted (in our case) of 18 questions. Around 5 open questions and 12 MCQ. The open questions required us to list things (features, medications, symptoms, geriatric tests, etc) from the lectures and seminars. Other years also had only open questions in theirs, so it might be different for you again – just ask.
Enough time was given to finish the test. We started writing after the morning meeting finished, and they said we'd have time to finish until 11 am. Everyone finished earlier.
The test was corrected and in case of failure, oral discussion with the assistant followed – which saved one or the other student from further retakes.
So far, we don't know any student that ultimately failed the course.
Credit is achieved by passing the credit test.
No grade will enter the transcript. Just try to pass.
