Department website:
In IT, you will learn how to work with a computer.
There are a total of 7 classes, each lasting about 3 hours. Each class focuses on one of the following programs: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Access. You will receive a step-by-step manual with several tasks to complete during the class. Once you're finished with them and the teacher has signed you off, you are allowed to go home.
Although it's not everyone's favorite subject, having solid skills in Microsoft Excel is incredibly valuable for life beyond med school.
You are supposed to have finished all assignments and to have them saved in a specific folder on the computer in order to be admitted to the final exam.
The final exam is more of a short test in which you will have to repeat some of the tasks you have previously performed in the Microsoft Excel class.
It consists of 2 questions, each with several tasks, and you can earn up to 10 points in total. To pass, you need at least 7 out of 10 points. Passing is usually not a problem if you completed the tasks during class.
Credit is achieved through passing the final exam.
No grade will enter the transcript, just pass.
