First Aid & Nursing
This is a short course that usually takes place in the second semester of first year. Students will have four in-person practical classes and five lectures weekly.
However, if students request nicely these lectures can be delivered online via Blackboard platform if the professor agrees. In-person classes are very hands-on and in these classes you will learn the basics of first aid, emergency medical treatment and in some cases IV cannulation. The classes are conducted in the university’s state of the art simulation center with high-quality equipment and ATDs that imitates real life emergency situations. It’s perhaps the most practical medical training you will receive in first year, seeing as the majority of the year consists of theoretical learning.
The final exam takes place at the end of second semester and covers all the lecture topics in the form of multiple choice questions.
In previous years, the final exams never took place. Having said this, it is essential for students to be prepared for the possibility of writing the final exam.
Credit received after passing the final exam.
No grade will enter the transcript, just pass.
