This subject covers the basics of genetics, including human genetics in the past and present, patterns of inheritance, types of mutations, and the resulting diseases. The course consists of lectures, classes and seminars. Classes consist of presentations and small exercises (no assessment).  However, some assistants may give out handouts to be completed before the next class.

Seminars are held separately from classes, where each group has to present a topic for each seminar day (3 days of seminars, so 3 presentations per group.) Presentation topics are often recycled so consult with older years.

For this course, it is important to pay attention to both lectures and classes, as they cover different topics. It might feel overwhelming when going through all the different mutations and the resulting diseases, but if you manage to get a good overview of them, the final exam should not be too hard.
