Department website:
This course lasts one semester and ends with a final exam. The course existed of lectures, seminars and classes, and had an oral assement at the end of each week to pass the classes.
Lectures were held in the winter semester, live on Blackboard. No attendance.
Seminars usually started at 08:00, in the department, and lasted from 45 minutes up to two-and-a-half hours. After, there was a short break and the assistant came to Block A to pick you up for classes. The classes consisted of specialized discussions and patient history taking.
Some assistants may do oral exams with you after each week (so twice). The topics were different between the assistants; some assistants let you choose two subjects and talk about them, others required their groups to study all seminars.
According to the regulations the two weekly evaluations can either be performed "orally or in writing". Some assistants may do oral exams with you after each week (so twice during the course). The topics were different between the assistants; some assistants let you choose two subjects and talk about them, others required their groups to study all seminars. Other assistants may also include a practical part (patient history). Difficulty depends on the teacher.
The final exam consisted of 90 MCQ's, one correct answer. We got 90 minutes to write it and were tight for time. 54 or 60 points were required to pass, check with the regulations.
Listening to the Seminars and classes will be enough for passing it. Using older stundets material will help you, too.
In 23/24, more than 90% passed first try.
Exemption
There is no exemption possible.Retake
The retake was held int he department and contained only 60 questions.Nota bene
The lectures and notes were not enough to prepare for the exam – even if you did well in daily classes and oral tests. Top students said that it was a difficult exam overall, and you may have to go into the books and beyond the scope of the course if you want to score well. The credit will appear as a grade in your transcript.
The grade will be the same as your final exam grade.
Consider the department's syllabus and regulations for the grading scale.
