Electives
In the second semester, instead of PE, you have the option to choose an elective course. Sometimes, however, the university assigns certain groups to specific electives. Last year, the available electives were: Physical Education, Representation of Psychological Disorders in Cinema, and Chemicals in Everyday Life.
Elective courses usually take place once a week for a total of 30 hours (about 10 to 15 sessions).
The exact schedule can vary depending on the teacher, and in some cases, you may even be able to arrange a different format: For example, longer sessions but fewer total meetings.
PE takes place once a week and is a fun way to be active with your classmates. You can choose from a variety of games and sports such as volleyball, basketball, hockey, and more.
For those who prefer individual activities, table tennis (depending on the hall) and badminton are also available.
Attendance is mandatory. While you’re free to pick the activities you enjoy, you must bring indoor shoes to participate.
You earn credit simply by attending enough sessions and properly excusing any absences.

In this elective, you explore the role of chemistry in everyday life and how it connects to practical, real-world situations.
Classes usually take place in the Polish dorms and last about one hour. At the end of the course, students prepare group presentations on a selected topic.
Credit is earned based on attendance and the completion of the presentation.

In this elective, you will focus on how mental disorders are portrayed in movies. Classes involve watching selected scenes - or sometimes entire films - followed by a group discussions.
The teacher is also very open to student movie suggestions, which makes the course interactive and engaging.
Attendance and punctuality are very important for this subject. The professor is strict about both, and unexcused absences are not allowed.
Credit is earned by attending the classes.
